  4. Oct 29 is , marking how far into 2020 the avg Latina must work to make what the avg white man made in 2019. Over 200 years after the founding of this country and people of color are still not receiving for equal work. We must continue fight for change.

  9. Calling the police on George Floyd about an alleged counterfeit $20 bill ended his life. If he had been met with unarmed, trained specialists for the nonviolent crime he was accused of, George Floyd would be turning 47 years old today. This plan will save lives.

  10. The LA City Council just voted to move forward our unarmed crisis response plan. The City will now: 1) Issue an RFP for nonprofit partners to implement our unarmed crisis response pilot 2) Create a new classification of City employees who will respond to nonviolent 911 calls.

  17. It is the responsibility of all of us to get people off the streets and into secure housing. It requires us to find our inner angels and provide these spaces for those to have a second chance.

  18. When I first proposed this location, I felt that if we as leaders were going to ask our residents to make space in their communities for our unhoused neighbors, I should lead by example. Haven is in the parking lot of my District Office where I spend 10-12 hours daily.
