F*ck it. I want to know how much grad students pay or make around the world - we don't have that info. Anybody want to add to this thread? I am doing a PhD in microbiology at UNC-Chapel Hill. I make $32,000 USD per year before tax, and my tuition/fees are paid for.

There’s also many PREP programs in every state! Being in one currently, it’s been an amazing opportunity! :) If you’re worried about applying because of a lower GPA or research experience, they look at the application holistically.

Hi everyone! With the beginning of this transition time, I want to compile a list of post-bac opportunities for seniors thinking of taking a break between undergrad and their next step in life. Whether you're a student or a prof, please comment them jobs!❤️

I want to first thank for being there for me. He helped me throughout the grad school process. I wouldn’t be where I am if it wasn’t for him! I will also like to thank for helping along the way as well by setting me up with a mentor Natan.

It was fun to draw these during the winter break. There are 2 drawings per STEM field and they represent diversity of backgrounds. IG @

I started grad school & realized there were so many skills I needed to learn that it seemed almost impossible. 1.5 years in I am about 60% better at most of them. Give yourself time, don’t beat yourself up, & just work at it a little every day. Happy Friday! 💯

As a first generation scientist, I was late to the game on scientific vocabulary. I feel like I'm constantly googling words when I'm reading a paper. My question is this: why is it that academic culture aims for exclusivity? Why isn't science more accessible?
