But suddenly, my channel stopped growing. What I mean is, my sub count doesn’t move. If it does go up, I lose the same amount of subs that I gained within the same week and sometimes the same day. I thought I was crazy to think that and was all a coincidence.
@TeamYouTube
I don’t think I’m being singled out or attacked by you guys and gals. I just wanted to clear that up to start. I’ve been doing YouTube for 6 years as of September and only started growing a following during late 2017, and early this year. For that I am grateful.

That was until today; I used an account me and two of my friends made alongside my first account to add as new subs as a test. Not even 1 hour passed before I lost two other subscribers at the same time. On Thursday of last week I gained a new sub

and lost a long time sub the very next week. I would’ve just let this go as if it was a mere coincidence but this has been happening since August of this year. And recently none of my videos have hit recommend even though I’ve uploaded the same type of content for years.

It’s just weird that now it’s at a better quality and my content isn’t as questionable as it use to be but now my channel is suffering. Watch minute average has rose as well. Is it because my content isn’t good? Or because I’m not involved in drama? What am I doing wrong YouTube?

PS: I’ve checked my socialblade just now and it doesn’t even reflect what I’ve noticed with my own eyes. So now I’m very confused.pic.twitter.com/wNyIfF4Cuw

Generally, it's normal to see fluctuations in your subscriber count. This is because we want to make sure the numbers are 100% accurate and so we perform additional verification and spam reviews. More info here: http://goo.gl/6B1Eb6 . Hope this clarifies! (1/2)

The link does explain the fluctuations. However, and this is an important detail failed to mention. In January of this year, I gain over 150 subscribers. That has never once, before or after, happened again to my channel for my entire 6 years. What do happened there?

Discovery of your video/posts depends on multiple factors like tags, title, description, etc. Also, your videos/posts are recommended based on the search keyword used by the viewers in the search bar or their search and watch history. Hope this clarifies too! (2/2)
