#CAT developed a reputation for flying in hazardous conditions & getting the job done no matter what the odds.pic.twitter.com/Zf5aHe1x2D
1949: #CAT began flying CIA supplies, but defeat of anti-Communist forces in mainland China left #CAT near bankruptcypic.twitter.com/4ynxLXUoRI
1950: our covert action arm at the time gave $100K subsidy to #CAT but they still had to let go of planes & personnelpic.twitter.com/CDEeBX1oPg
1950: Korean War spurred us to fully acquire #CAT in August. Ostensibly it was a private company, but it was actually our new aviation arm.
1958: #CAT became #AirAmerica & provided supply & covert mission support flights, as well as search & rescue during war in SE Asia.
Legacy of #CAT came to an end when #AirAmerica was disbanded in 1976.
