That's how it usually goes, and it's what I constantly have to remind myself when I read this stuff and get borderline depressed about humanity. The vast majority is a sensible group willing to listen. It's just that the tiny minority of fringe extremists tend to be the loudest.
The chaos inside the lecture hall at Lewis & Clark Law School was only part of the problem. Protesters outside were chanting loudly. Eliminate the federal student loan program & bring it back to the private markets. At the moment its too easy to get loans & just live life as a student on the bare grade passage. Eliminate the program this issue will clear itself up. People who shouldn't go to college wont.

While frustrating for the people in the audience, the sad truth that these activists fail to learn is the LOUDER they try to shout you down, the MORE attention they drive in your direction. 'no platforming' is an idiotic tactic that eventually has a greater, opposite effect.

If I'm security there, I first clear the front of the room of the lard that don't belong there. Then I start kicking people out that disrupt the talk. Respectful behavior should be the bar to be allowed to stay in the classroom to hear her speak. Bad security = Bad behavior!

Wrong way to go about it. Should be enough to just enforce the laws they actually break. For most of these clowns it is going to be misdemeniors but it would be interesting to see how many stick around when their tantrums are dealt with appropriately.

Enforcing the laws and stopping them acting like brownshirts would be a great start. College administrators having the cojones to support free speech on campus and not cower into safe spaces every time on of these fascists tries to block a talk would be a good start
