Don't know if you noticed, i posted this as a response. Whenever you see nonsense like this, give them this, it is a site with actual data. Doubt they would pay attention, though, it is just outrage clickbate article. They lie on purpose.https://quanticfoundry.com/2017/01/19/female-gamers-by-genre/ …

If you wanna know even more about women in esports. I'll tell you what happens. In counter strike. Girls have 3 tournaments per year that is female exclusive. The females are free to play in all tournaments all year(those that pseudo feminists say are male only) but don't qualify
-
So is it sexist to have female only tournaments? Or should we just raise the prize pool for female tournaments to match males (30k 40k for female compared to 1million for normal tournaments) even if the normal tournament get more viewers, more people on the arena etc etc

I just find it odd that all of the guys in esports weren't stopped by toxicity and harassment. It's almost like it's not to do with gender at all, but about REALLY wanting to get into the industry despite the challenges. Most people just aren't cut out for it or have the skill.

If you talk about games to a girl at a bar, 9/10 times she'll say "eww nerd" and laugh at you to your face. a more true statistic. or she'll have heard of exactly one game and try to talk about it, which is perhaps worse.
-
Even even worse, she has blue hair and talks about her overwatch fanfic

I play Wordscapes on my phone and couldn’t tell you the right side up of a game controller my kids play with. I am most definitely not a gamer

I'm not fully sure that Candy Crush gamers should not be counted? Like I agree there's a big diff... but I don't know if you can make a case that women 'aren't interested' in gaming for some biological reason.
-
Absolutely, Candy Crush players should be counted as "Gamers". But equating Candy Crush players to professional e-sports players, is like saying "Sure, I play football. I was the best QB in my 6th grade class." "Gamers" are a wide and vast group of varied people.
-
So, 25 years ago there were no esports. 0 men playing esports, 0 women playing esports. Where did those men who play esports now come from? Why did significantly fewer women start playing esports over that same time period? There's a legitimate question in here.
-
Why is cosmetology a female dominated career and why hasn't there been a push to get more men involved? Different strokes for different folks.

It is. It's like counting cultural anthropology and sociology in "STEM." Really misleading.
-
TBF you really have to know how to game stats in sociology

we called them data poolers in my program. We do under-the-scope lab research, test hypotheses for accuracy, figure out functionality, and then they get to sit on their asses all day, look at OUR data, and interpret it however they wish
