Just like the explorers and inventors of past milennia, it seems there's an ever growing world of grievances to discover.. mainly amongst people who can think a lot in their comfortable, colonial offices & lecture halls, but do little else to feel important.

There’s a walking talking grievance guy in the White House. He blames everything and is effectively unchallenged while academia is navel gazing. My head hurts from the nonsense.
-
True, but both things can be true and bad, can they not? Smacks if relative privation argumentation.
-
Both are true I suppose and one is really bad and perhaps the other too. I’m sorry to say I have no idea what your second sentence means b/c I don’t dig academic jargon. I suppose I could be guilty of whatever accused but can’t say for sure.
-
Relative privation arguments usually are some version of "it could be worse," but I don't know if "whataboutism" falls under that.
-
Ah, that’s good to know. I am probably guilty of “whataboutism” at times, even while recognizing it is a bad tendency. I am only human, and it is difficult to be objective all the time when we are all bundles of emotions too.

"who have prized the bourgeois values of industry, sobriety, moral and social restraint, and fortitude". Today's leftist snowflakes wouldn't recognise any of these as values if they were hit over the head by them (except as a bike lock).
-
"James prized good manners and civility". I just couldn't stop laughing at this WRT today's SJWs. I think, were he alive today, he'd be like a Brendan O'Neil - scathing of the supposed champions of the working class et al.
