So, @imkristenbell is right - we need to talk about #consent - and fairytales are an excellent place to start. pic.twitter.com/bO7UZGlo0I

What they fail to focus on is an old witch (woman) uses coercion to convince a prince he must save the sleeping princess. The whole reason for the kiss? the Witch tried to kill her. Men wake up, make your own decisions, tell old evil women to stop trying to kill their young.

@amnesty you're right, consent in the real world is necessary. But... this is a fairy tale. Which are filled with morals and symbolism. The point is true love breaks spells & conquers evil. You're making that gross when it doesn't have to be. Get your mind out of the gutter.

How much does @amnesty hate boys to believe that groping an unconscious woman is such typical behavior that they need to be deprogrammed by fairy tale consent videos? Sickening.

There are behaviors that are self-rewarding. Sex is one of them, and thus it is *very* hard to correct such behaviors — especially in men, for whom this draw is much stronger than in women. This is a particularly female view, that men can be reformed by yelling at them *louder*.

Do you think *most* boys/men 1st reaction is grope an unconscious woman or help her? I go with help. But maybe I just pick good guys to hang around with.

Oh, absolutely not; my stance is that actual rapists are rare, and that boors, while more common, are still a minority. It's the efficacy of "teach men not to rape" I question. The people spouting such nonsense are all utopianists. Videos like the one featured upthread >

are likely to have *negative* effects, because they presume men have to be berated out of raping. For men who wouldn't consider such acts, it is deeply insulting.

No wonder we’re dumbing than our ancestors; we’re scrubbing out everything they had to tell us, whether it’s in actual history or in stories like fairy tales.

Apparently Amnesty didn’t get the message that the kiss in Snow White is the mythical equivalent to CPR. Not that it would matter in the middle of this Moral Panic.

Trouble is troglodytes don't get the symbolism but they do see the image: unconscious female=opportunity

Ironically a trait shared with the ideological zealots of political correctness who also only see the image: unconscious female + male kissing = rape. In both cases the context is lost & stupidity reigns. Instead of caving to either form of stupidity how about we reject both.

But in fairy tales, no one gets handsy like that. Sure, let’s tell girls it’s better to die or sleep forever than to get a magical peck on the lips (no tongue) from their true love.

It's so silly, it's about the 'magic' of true love, it's a destiny narrative, the reader already knows that the prince and the princess are meant to live "happily ever after." It's escapism in it's purist form, and these asses have to ruin it. lol
