Can right and left Twitter declare temporary truce and devote all our manic energy, obsessive resentments, free floating rage toward ending factory farming. Start with pigs. They are said to be as smart and sensitive as dogs.https://twitter.com/clairlemon/status/1053603420194537472 …

I agree with your viewpoint however it seems to me that stopping factory farming is unlikely to happen until we further develop lab grown meat technologies & scale out the manufacturing & distribution processes.

Seems like we could manage that. The other day I had some Japanese butter—Miyoko. Thought it was some high-end import. Best butter ever. It turned out to be vegan. Some mix of coconut, safflower, cashew oils, salt.

Yes, but all of that is expensive. Horrible truth is animal farms are needed to feed the U.S. in an affordable way

I expect that once clean meat technology improves, it could take less time and resources to produce and thus be more affordable.

I might be more receptive is this wasn't an obvious hit piece. 93 percent of all food animals come from factory farms. But 90 percent are chicken and fish. Why are all of your pictures of feed lots and animal restraints used for veterinary treatments?

If it's vegan, it's not butter. Would be nice if you cared about humans as much as you care about animals.

It was just an example lol. There are tons of plant based foods or alternatives that are on the cheaper side.

No there aren't. "Alternatives" are always more expensive. That's the primary reason that they're always rejected (look at alternative energy, GMO-free/organic vegetables). In the case of food, they're almost always quite horrible, too.

I mean tofu is a well know meat substitute/alternative and it's fairly cheap. But okay I guess. Taste is subjective fwiw :^)
