Gentle reminder to ⁦@washingtonpost⁩ . This article should have come with a Crazy Rant Alert. “Thanks for not raping us, all you ‘good men.’ But it’s not enough.”https://www.washingtonpost.com/outlook/2018/10/12/thanks-not-raping-us-all-you-good-men-its-not-enough/ …

I used to think the most fundamental difference between left & right was over the size of government and its reach into our personal lives. But your suggestion points out the real difference: whatever the left says it wants from you, it's never enough.

That still is the difference imo. These people aren’t the Left, Right or centre. They’re something else

Postmodernism has taken over the left.

It’s a weird one. This is the age of affectation. We’ll look back on it & squirm

Yep. Pete Townshend called it in 1982 with the lyrics to Eminence Front. We all thought he meant the glitz & glam, social big wheels. Now? They all be frontin'

I read a chunk of that article as, 'I emotionally abused my husband for 30 minutes last night. I blamed him for things for which he can't be responsible. He is so broken, he stood there silently and took it. I am blind to the damage I have done to him over the last 50 years'.

"He sat, hunched and hurt, and he listened." No, he wasn't listening, he was trying to recall the name of that divorce atty who his friend had recommended. The author of this piece is unhinged. Her hubby should have just walked out. Violence was in the air.

As a trauma therapist who treats men and women who have been horribly abused by both men and women, this sort of primitive splitting into good/bad factions is so deluded. Seems this is the dark underbelly of identity politics. These 'progressives' are cannibalizing themselves.

As someone who's gone through a path to recovery from things similar to that, their brand of tribalism doesn't seem helpful at all in creating a new sense of normalcy in one's life. I went through a period of utter rage and contempt for those who wronged me, but that's a cage.

Absolutely. I had to grapple with the rage in my process of recovery and find the ‘gold in the shit’ to paraphrase Jung. Seems way too many are reveling in the shit and want to stay there.

Victimhood status causes care-oriented people to place you higher in their value structure. For people who want attention, even for pure reasons, it can be attractive to never grow and never heal.

“A flood of rage is rushing through women’s minds”...? So we are part of a collective and when one is angry then all are angry? Like the Borg? Did I miss the signup thingy again? My bad.

i didn't even see her mention anything about apologizing to her husband. just reading that gave flashbacks of my ex-wife. i'd sooner die than be in a marriage like that again.

So if a man where to talk to his spouse this way it would be..? I would simply have walked out on her. Act like a child, be treated like a child.
