Which, sadly, is exactly what this government wants. So, so wrong and, yet, people are more worked up about Brexit than this. Not paying attention is a gift to the Tories.

Or even "As existing NHS services are rolled back, it is sadly inevitable that more patients will have to pay out of pocket to get healthcare". Underfunding could mean e.g. no 6-figure NHS "CEO" salaries, eliminating market admin etc. Services are specifically targeted for cuts.

A lot of the treatments that are crowd funded for are experimental with no proven benefit. Are you saying the NHS should fund these?
-
Thanks Alison, to clarify private "self pay" is a growing trend in the UK due to NHS cut backs, in the US crowdfunding for care for those not insured is common. So whilst some self pay expenditure might be on unnecessary treatment it is also due to long NHS waits and rationing

come on.. most of the fundraising is for 'alternative' nonsense. I'm a supporter but stay factual please..

Thanks
@digitaldeli - perhaps useful to know that the biggest growth area for the private healthcare sector in the UK is the "self-pay" market - ie patients funding their own care. The private sector attributes this growth to restricted access to NHS care. - Show replies

How does that charity £20m compare with the actual shortfall in government funding since 2010? Or even just this year?

The 'immunotherapy' that Gemma Nuttall fundraising was for was completely fake though. The Hallwang clinic are a disgusting bunch of crooks who offer false hope and take €1,000s off dying patients and their families. The NHS is absolutely right not to fund these con tricks
