We are around two weeks from the start of @LouisianaGov's statewide mask mandate, closure of bars (to on-premises consumption) and crowd size limitation of 50, which means we hope to see improvements in data. We will do a deep dive into data with @LADeptHealth in coming days.

.@LouisianaGov says "everybody has a role to play." He reminds people to wear masks, social distance, stay home when you are sick, wash their hands, etc. If everyone would cut their movements outside the home in half, we would greatly reduce the spread of #COVID19.

.@LouisianaGov notes that yesterday Louisiana suspended bar permits from four bars after serious non compliance with his order. He turns the mic over to Chief Butch Browning, of @LAFIREMARSHAL.

Chief Browning of @LAFIREMARSHAL says it is unfair to the many businesses who are working hard to comply with @LouisianaGov's orders to slow the spread of #COVID19 for a few "bad actors" to spoil their efforts for everyone.

"These bars being closed is important to Louisiana to get back to where we need to go," Chief Browning of @LAFIREMARSHAL says.

.@LAFIREMARSHAL says we've seen more mask wearing since the mask mandate went into place. He says the office completed 840 inspections/courtesy visits between Thursday and Saturday, and found only around 70 violations, most related to mask wearing.
