We work hard to protect local businesses. We’ve learned organized crime networks are behind much property crime so we’re focused on dismantling organized crime & expanding victim services: last yr our retail theft task force seized $8m in stolen goods.https://www.sfchronicle.com/crime/article/Is-shoplifting-rising-in-San-Francisco-Here-s-16272907.php …

Data in that report is junk, as most shops were closed so of course total numbers are down. Just ask any employee of Safeway, CVS or Walgreens and ask them about the last 18 months and shoplifting. Most also stopped reporting to police many months ago as it was waste of time.

Look at the data on the closures of retail outlets, rise in violent crime and the loss of tourism dollars. These aren't anecdotal , they're dispassionate valid and reliable data.https://www.forbes.com/sites/lauriewerner/2020/08/12/plunging-san-francisco-tourism-isnt-expected-to-recover-until-2025/ …

You're trying to disprove my point by making more things up? It says nothing about violent crime, which is actually down btw. Many retail outlets across the country have closed down during covid, including Walgreens closings which were planned two years ago.
