I'm on the fence about the Universal/AMC standoff. As an ancient being, I value a theatrical experience & I'd like studios to "play ball" with the classic distribution system that's sustained them for 100+ years. On the other hand, AMC's reaction is so hostile and over-the-top...

I cannot believe that there will be a time when people don't want to see movies on the big screen. Maybe not all movies, but at least some of them.

I saw the Back to the Future trilogy in a theatre a couple of years ago and it has never been as funny as then with all the other people laughing with me, getting the same jokes, getting even more jokes than I got.

They have to evolve to stay open. My local theater was 7 dollars a ticket before this happened. If they charged 14 and let me bring in food I'd do it. Or I'll keep doing the 7 bucks with a buck fifty for a refill.

Going to the cinema is such a horrible experience. Why would I want to pay half the price of a video game to sit in a dark room and listen too other people eat food while a movie is also being played? To top it off cinema sound is horrible. I’ve got an amazing system at home

I'm old and *I* don't care about the big screen. The best place to watch anything is always at home.

I think the improvement of home technology correlates to the failure of theaters. Movies have been filmed in 2K & 8K since the 80s, and at that time most TV resolutions were 480p at their highest. Now that 4K is rising in popularity, theaters aren't much of a quality increase.

About the only things theaters still have going for them are their sound & the social aspect. Theater sound is dope as hell, and I don't think living rooms will ever match it. Plus experiencing something in a mass gathering is always enjoyable, regardless of what it is.

When you have you full sized cinema, you should invite be to come watch, and they should pay a little each time, you know for snacks and stuff

Invent affordable home projectors and let people make their own cinemas.
