You don't understand how small the virus actually is. This is dangerous to imply this method is effective.

Too little too late. Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Japan have so far managed to keep the spread relatively low, despite the high population density and heavy reliance on crowded public transit -- because wearing of masks was already part of their cultures.

But we don't have masks - not even for healthcare workers.

@DrMattMcCarthy why did you say this? There’s lots of people on the CDC team who are very responsive and you could have talked to before pushing this tweet. Letting the public think this is coming may further exacerbate supply chain concerns through public purchase of masks. -
If CDC really that good, the pandemic would not be wild spreading in the US. They gave wrong message to government just like corrupted WHO. You could research the situation of Hong Kong and Tawian, they don't trust the WHO guideline, so they maintain the situation in small damage

Dear CDC, we have been working on a pubic disaster mask design to help the public “improvise.” Where can we send this for review? The public deserves a better solution than a cotton bandana—we have a plan. Thxpic.twitter.com/Y2Ps9vWatI
