This struggling humpback whale succumbed to death overnight Tuesday in the shallow shores of Wellfleet, Cape Cod. Under federal agreement, IFAW’s local team extracted the animal today—approx 7,900 lbs/3600 kg—and will conduct a necropsy to approximate cause of death. More soon.
