    This is literally gibberish. They’re public submissions on the actual Bill before the house. NOW is when they are useful to access for legislators. Hiding them because they take the Data Sharing and Governance Bill to pieces hardly smacks of confidence in the Gov’s position

    Sorry... . a Junior Minister has just informed the Oireachtas that there are systemic breaches of law where data sharing is being carried out without a lawful basis. I’ll file my “concern” (aka complaint) shortly.

    It is extremely concerning that members of the government to not seem to understand the nature of consent, which must be fully informed, unambiguous, a positive action, specific, and FREELY GIVEN. This statement regarding "inferred consent" fits none of these conditions.

    Deputy Patrick O'Donovan: " It is a once only principle where if a person is availing of a service, it could be inferred that there is consent already contained in that by virtue of the fact that they have presented themselves to look for that particular support or service from the State." ..."It must be borne in mind that this is already happening. We are trying to put a legal basis on it at the moment"
    This not only appears to be an admission that unlawful data sharing is taking place, it also appears to an argument that interacting with a public body is somehow "GIVING CONSENT" have one's data shared.:

    NameTests, another FB quiz app, left data "of 120 million Facebook users exposed to anyone who happened to find it", including "posts and statuses, your photos and your friends". This is about a security issue. More important: did/do they share/sell data?

    / thanks for the follow! Where can we find the Data Governance and Sharing consultation and responses on the PER website? A lot of work went into analysing the proposals and now it has disappeared. Legislators and the public need access to these.

    Never bother asking again why the GDPR focuses so much on profiling and automated decision-making. Of course they will argue this is a legal requirement, national security exception, or pass a law to make it ok.

    I’ve criticized risk assessments before, but I’ve never seen a risk assessment hacked to give a bad score in every case: Would love to know more, send me info, contact in bio, and my dudes pls RT
