Patients need to be proactive in their dealings w/ hospitals when in a non-emergency or life threatening situation. The patient must make it clear, in writing, that only medical professionals within the patient’s insurance network may perform any billable work on them.

It sounds easy to ask and request.. but half the time ... no one is sure about who is in your network. I think when you go into the hospital that is in your network... everyone that comes into contact with you needs to be in your insurance network.
