It's literally what the bloody Skeksis have done in the Dark Crystal. Take as much as possible and give back as little as possible. That eventually accumulates as "wealth". It's not balanced and it encourages a dog eat dog world.pic.twitter.com/wDuQf0kjKq
Fun with numbers. But wealth isn’t finite. Somebody having money doesn’t mean somebody else can’t. How am I hurt by the guy across town having more than me? What’s to stop me from going out and making my own wealth? The supply is not limited.
Wealth is not finite, but access to it relative to a specific point in time is. With no capital or assets, and no person or business willing to employ the person, wealth accumulation is effectively impossible for many. Starvation doesn't always wait for wealth to trickle down.
This is great...BUT I wish @tonydokoupil would have taken his pies to the yacht show &demonstrated how redistribution would really look... the 1% would STILL get to buy their boats, the poor would still be poor but not AS poor. Each plate would not have the same amount of pie!
They don't care. They consider themselves entitled to all the pie and if people have to literally die to make that happen, they're fine with it. The rich, by and large, consider the poor to be morally inferior and deserving of their condition.
This is fatally flawed research. Interviewer bias and hostility to economic self-determination renders the piece DOA. He fails to mention that the lowest 20% in America live lives that are the envy of the world.

Why didn’t you bring the pie to the yacht show thing?
Show them and watch them argue was they deserve nine pieces of pies.
