We are a country of immigrants. Are we going to get apprehensive every time we meet someone that looks different from ourselves? Please.

Except they aren't immigrants...

Let me simplify...A white mom looks at two young men, who are not white, makes an assumption they are up to no good and notifies police. With people from all over the world in the US, some of whom are citizens, being non-white DOES NOT make a person a terrorist or bad.

Also, in the trascript she says the kids said they were from Mexico... which means that racist idiot heard "New Mexico" and fixated on the Mexico part. Which, considering her actions, isn't that surprising. Fair chance that she thinks she's the victim in this.

I have a similar story from my Nepalese friend - he went to visit his cousin a few years back at UT Austin on a Saturday? Some woman called the cops on them because she thought there were both Arabs and possibly up to no good. Lol wrong sub continent ma’am

Why wasn't the woman sent home instead of the boys? She was the one with the problem.

Here's the call if you haven't heard it already https://safety.colostate.edu/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/911call.mp3 …

The only thing that call shows is that because two young men didn’t appear to “fit in” they suddenly displayed behavior that was “odd”. Paranoia and unconscious racism produces predictable behavior themselves. Remember Starbucks, Philadelphia? Her bigotry had her convinced they

They didn’t get sent home, they got sent back to their group.

You are mistaken. The campus security released them...and their tour had ended.
-
Yeah but they didn’t kick them off campus
-
What does this have to do with any of it?
-
What does Starbucks have to do with this? That’s completely different.

White privilege.
-
How is this white privilege? Explain.
-
I assume he’s just trying to point at the idea that this just isn’t something that really happens to white people. They don’t have to deal with this regularly like POC do. Something needs to be done about it.
-
Nailed it. Had the Native Americans on the campus tour called campus police saying the whites were making them uncomfortable, campus police would have probably laughed it off and told them their anxiety was nonsense. White privilege.
