No they are not losing support! Check out todays crowd! Parents & children are out in record numbers! Not enough coverage of how poorly the Republican Governor & representatives are treating them at the capital.

Put some more tax on those oil companies to pay the teachers and fund education

The Republicans refuse to even come up to 7% taxation of the oil & gas. Oklahoma has the lowest Gross Production Tax on oil & gas in the United States!

Why doesn’t this article address everything going on here? The fight isn’t just about wages it’s also about proper funding for education. Also, the teachers are not losing public support and its building daily.

It’s not only abt pay...it’s abt working conditions. All citizens in OK should be appalled at the condition of some schools, the taped textbooks, the 4-day school week. Every parent should be standing next to those teachers.

"Some" meaning the elected GOP officials in Oklahoma who have cut funding for schools, teaches and students repeatedly for who knows how long.

Not funding the educators of said children sets a criminal example for the children. They have 90+ schools that only operate 4 days a week. Sadly you sound like you missed about 20% of a normal education

And $6k + $13k is nowhere near enough to cover a person's cost of living, never mind raising a family. Oh and BTW teachers are no longer able to write off the supplies they buy for their students anymore thanks to the #GOPTaxScam

Where are you getting the 13k figure from? I didn't see that anywhere in the article and a quick search online is shows the average salary of around $34k before the raises.
