I had Active Killer Awareness Training THIS MORNING. Everyone should at least take an online class. We don’t respond these shootings correctly. None of us do. It’s unnatural. But the average police response time is three minutes. I think that’s pretty good.

Cdn. colleges & many schools have an alarm next to fire alarm, big blue button, hit & a blaring alarm goes off to shelter in place. Drills done. Can’t miss it! I think we only had 1 University shooting in 91, all women shot by a guy that thought women were stealing men’s jobs.
-
Yes that was Marc Lépine at École Polytechnique in Montréal.
-
Thanks, I blanked on his name. I still attend memorials with the purple ribbons & we read the 7 names. Forgetting his name is the way it should be!
-
I wish I could blank out his name. It was my last year in CEGEP when this tragedy occurred. I lived in Côte-des-Neiges at the time.

I am so sorry you had to go through this horrible event. It was so shocking. I hope you’ve been able to heal, I know it will always be there, never something you can ever forget.
-
It was indeed a shock. Students were apprehensive for awhile. I was not directly involved but it did have an impact upon may people.

I admire the urgency and fearlessness of these officers. I wish the officers in Parkland did the same.
