I take this for a synovial cyst on my spine. Gotta say it doesn't do shit for me in the getting high department.

Same here. I don't even understand the coverage. Everyone wants to do anything but put pay taxes to put opioid users in rehab. Anything but actually tackling the problem.

This is the most completely fucking stupid story in the history of medical stories. I've used Gabapentin for over 8 years with no ill effect. Gabapentin is routine compliment in pain management regimens, of course it appears in conjunction with opioids. I use it without opioids!

Wtf ! I take that for nerve damage ! Clearly you have the wrong medication... it’s like a glorified Motrin at best

Evil stuff... I was on it for nerve disorders due to cervical injury. All it did was make me mean, cramped up, dizzy and sleepy. No pain relief. After checking around I find out it is the go to pill for neurologists to get kickbacks.

It’s not an “opioid alternative” as far as getting you high. It’s for nerve pain, like fibromyalgia and others.

If they want to get high they will... Coricidan HBP and Immodium get used. I've been taking pain meds, muscle relaxers and gabapentin for years due to nerve damage. I don't get high but it's getting tougher to get meds that I *need* to function

Gabapentin (neurotin) is prescribed for nerve pain and seizure disorders. I receive it due to L1 through L5 and L5/S1 discs are all herniated causing severe sciatic pain from lower back to my toes. If not for it I could not function. It doesn't give me a "high" or mess me up..

Addicts only look for 1 word on a label "pain" then they start abusing before they know "the rest of the story".

Gapabentin is also not an "alternative" to opioids. It's not used for breakthrough pain and it takes like an hour or two to get through your system. You can't pop gabapentin and quickly get an analgesic effect for your head or for your back!

Oh, this will be on the tip of everyone lips soon. I have never heard of it before. Has anyone tried alternative medicine instead of drugs for a cure all? Acupuncture, yoga anything else than popping a pill for a cure?

YES!!!

What? Did it help you?

YES!

I see, you’re ignorant.

Omg please it's a safe drug. Heroin is the problem. People need to realise you cant mix drugs with medication especially gabapentin being an anti-epileptic drug it's no wonder people stop breathing if they take the two at a time
