@TGowdySC had an original title "how I suckered a black man into thinking he was friends with me so I could use my "I have a black friend card" every time I support racist policies" but the publisher thought it was too long

Will you ever have any real Democrats on any of your shows? Manchin is not really a Democrat so he never counts. Once in awhile on CBS This Morning or on Face the Nation you may want to have a Democrat or 2 or 3. Otherwise you're as fair and balanced as Fox

They're both Republicans from South Carolina. So by saying their friendship is unlikely they must be admitting only thing they see is color

“See, Trey’s a conservative Republican like me but he didn’t know whether he could befriend a black. I finally won him over by doing my John Wayne impersonation...”

These two are both conservative Republicans though. So the gap they breached was racial not ideological. I mean yay for Rep. Gowdy not being So racist he would not talk to a black guy.. but I don't see why this is so " unlikely"

Amazing how Trey Gowdy can see past his racist tendencies and become friends with an actual African American!pic.twitter.com/tMV9cZl7YA

Viscous = sticky..you meant to say vicious, right? Then again, viscous may be a much better description!

I guess that works too.

That this is an "unlikely friendship" when it's members of the same party says FAR more about the GOP than race relations in general.

The real story is how Rep. Gowdy is abdicating his duty as chair of the House Oversight Committee issuing zero subpoenas during a period of massive government misconduct. But he’s busy on a book tour.

This is such a stupid segment. It’s like having two Obama supporters saying the same thing. Wouldn’t it be more impactful if one was not a Trump supporter from the other side?

Less time writing a book and more action in congress needed

Really? "Unlikely friendship"? Why? Same party, same state, same building. It would unlikely they WEREN'T friends.
-
Well in their defense, White Republicans usually only bring up "black friends" when they were caught under a KKK hood.
