Parkland shooting survivor Sam Fuentes continues speech after throwing up on stage: "Our mission is simple and our ambitions are unbeatable. Let's keep the guns out of the hands of the wrong people and keep them in the hands of the safe and reasonable." http://cbsn.ws/2pDCfAK pic.twitter.com/EfNOxuy6eo

"Guns only serve one purpose: to take a life. They don’t spare, they don’t protect. They take lives," says one Parkland student. “We are saying no more.” http://cbsn.ws/2pDCfAK

I can not imagine the amount of courage, determination, fierceness and sheer badassary it takes to stand in stoic silence for that long in front of the world. I believe that
@Emma4Change will change this nation.#MarchForOurLives

I find it hard to grasp how this is all necessary. Like, in Europe, kids march for US kids. They don't march for their own safety, simply because in Europe, we don't have school shootings. Not ever. None. We have gun laws. We have AR15s, but we have good gun laws.
-
And that's the diff. Good laws
-
I have a mandatory gun safe. I need to keep the key with me at all times, to make sure nobody else has access to the guns. There's a 2.5 years waiting time for a license for a 9mil pistol. 3.5 for semi auto rifle. There's a city bg check when you join a club, and
-
and a pollice check when you apply for license. You can only shoot your gun at the range, nowhere else. You have to do that at least 18 times every year. You have to participate in a competition at the range. Police actually checks on that.
-
Police keeps a database of all guns. At any time, they know who owns what guns, and where they are. You commit a fellony, they come for your guns. They come check on the guns in your save every year. Gun missing, that's a fellony. They check on the serial numbers.
-
There's mandatory gun safety training. You can''t transport guns other than between your home and the range or the shop. Transport guns unloaded, ammo kept separately. In your home, in the save, ammo needs to be locked separately.
-
if anyone in the chain has any doubt, no gun for you. I don't think they have to motivate when they deny you a license.

Thank God these kids refuse to let their friends be just another statistic, a story on the back page of a paper where we would never connect and realize these kids were real, they were here one day & gone the next in a matter of 6 minutes.
Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

They don't get if you take guns from responsible gun owners then they will become prey for the criminals who will always have smuggled guns. The Democrats will become the monarchs they're trying to become and we will all be slaves to them.
-
What the fuck are you so afraid of? Gun control means we're more responsible with guns. The current state of arms is irresponsible
-
Gun control is not the answer. I am deeply sadended by this and all shootings and the loss of so many innocent lives, but this is a me mental health issue. We have turned or backs on those that need help the most, and we have allowed this to happen by not respecting one another.
-
There are mentally ill people in UK, Australia, and New Zealand too. But those countries have succeeded to minimize (or even stop) gun violence in schools after they enacted very strict gun control. And before you argue about knives -- knives cannot kill people as fast as guns.
-
Guns are inanimate objects, and cannot kill without someone behind the trigger. Screen all gun owners past, present and future for mental illness before you allow them their 2nd amendment rights to bear arms.
-
Heads up, that’s called gun control.
