The real issue is I know the value of life, I know how to make the decision when to evade vs just braking. A young kid ran in into the road I reacted to evade if I would have braked I would have hit her. Can't teach that to a machine.

Of course you can teach that to a machine...thats exactly what you can teach a machine to do...and in a fraction of the time it would take you to decide.

So you’re blaming the victim. Nice.

Perhaps the victim was at fault: this is a traffic accident not a rape

These autonomous vehicles could be programmed to stop, if they detect movement to the right or left ahead, but they would be continuously coming to abrupt stops. Can you imagine all the rear end collisions this would cause?

I read that the Uber car had a backup human driver behind the wheel. That person would shoulder the blame if it was a normal car. Why is this not questioned?

Right.....don’t blame the billion dollar corporation. Blame the dead woman who’s family probably can’t afford to hire an attorney.

When big companies create a product/service, they can't 4see all pitfalls. However they do plan on collateral damage(injury/death).I'm not saying it's right, but I would say there is a prob w/the PTB(Powers That Be - including govt) trying 2remove all responsibility from humans.

I know there are power ups/lvl ups of victim status in life, but ppl should stop trying to find ways to "achieve" victim status like they do in their video games with govt and big business. Victimhood IS slavery.
