Yeah, is that for 9 months out of the year? Pretty reasonable to me.

Wrong. 40 percent of the job is done outside of school. It requires degrees, advanced degrees and licenses. But that won't stop you from making ignorant assumptions.
-
Wrong. They are given teachers aids, most things are computerized, and they are given extra time during the day to get their extra stuff done. Maybe they should stop participating in extracurricular, non-educational functions like gun control so they have more time.
-
Extra time during the day?! You mean the free overtime we give almost every single day. Name one other occupation that would do that for free.
-
Military and Nurses. Did it every day, the hospitals wouldn't give overtime if you had to stay and finish the paperwork. Military...no overtime or extra pay for 60+ hour weeks and more.
-
Teachers do not get overtime but nurses do and shift dif. Also military remembers get paid cola, housing allowance and hazardous duty pay. Teachers do not get any extra even when shot at.
-
Teachers do not work shifts, nurses do and the differential is not worth the stress on the body or the family. $150/mo HDP - such a perk for increased risk of death... Hospitals are not friendly about OT. Teachers get to stay in one area, pay off their homes, and not relocate.
-
WtF! Why are you fighting about Nurses VS Teachers? Both are valuable and undervalued, underpaid professions because they are predominately practiced by women. And because they are in the non profit sphere. They should both recognize their power and fight together for each other!

I'm not sure if Arizona is a Republican-controlled state or not...it doesn't really matter, but I think West Virginia teachers showed what needed to be done nationwide in order to get teachers paid what they deserve...and earned!!!
-
Yes Arizona is a red state, that is why we have so many issues here.
-
Thank you! I didn't want to play politics, because whether Republican- or Democrat-controlled, this is an issue nationwide that needs to be dealt with swiftly and appropriately!
