Kids at Colquitt County High School in Moultrie, GA were given In School Suspension. Rumor is they won't be allowed to go to prom.
-
On my gratitude list. Starting a Go Fund Me to honor all kids who stood up for what’s right. They’re not expecting thanks but they deserve it
-
Should start a crowd fund for them to have their own prom.

Now there’s a great idea. The theme for senior prom should be

You can always remove your child from a schools that doesn’t recognize or appreciate your value.... just a thought!! or remove the leaders of those schools; 200+ parents are powerful!!!
-
Removed the leadership. Make the admin pay. Fix the way the admin allows miseducation about our civil rights to be manipulated. Fire them. Sue them too.pic.twitter.com/JtOrhRhKMM

The Civil Rights movement was about civil disobedience. Without a consequence, it would not have been civil disobedience so what is the complaint, the students got the mildest form of punishment allowed by a school.
-
I think you missed the point of the Civil Rights Movement and what it was ACTUALLY about!
-
Absolutely. Folks weren’t protesting for the right to protest. Is that all that he got those protests? This photo is from 1963& it is of young people who also walked out of school in Bham. They left to protest segregation. Look at everyone’s face. Read the sign.pic.twitter.com/lASi3dZgAm

Wtf—this guy lives in Augusta, GA and actually teaches about the civil rights movt??? How does he not already know this stuff? Who does he teach? Soooooo many questions.pic.twitter.com/lBjBk9PSI6

Dude... you’re right! But it’s Georgia... guess some learning has to happen!
-
How is it that the folks who live in places where the movement was the most violent still don’t know why civil rights protestors were protesting?pic.twitter.com/omqxNz8gKV

I've never seen parents so proud of their kids' detentions and suspensions. TELL Principals and school boards now. Schools had a chance to be educational about civics, instead went with punishment.

And tell your high schooler THANK YOU for standing up. It's important. Democracy is not a spectator sport.

Colleges will scoop them up after they displayed the courage to defend the 1st Amendment without fear of the consequences.

Hand out 2 detentions and that sucks. Hand out 200 and it's a party.
-
Great time to get together and plan additional actions to show their support. They should hold detention in the gym so they can rally the time away.
-
On a positive note, the detention is THIS weekend.
#MarchForOurLives
