Why is a dog carry-on? Did they buy him a ticket?

Yes, she paid $200 for the dog to be on the flight under the seat in front of her...where he was fine.
-
Nobody paid $200 for the dog they didn’t tell anyone about the dog
-
Why then did
@united ALREADY refund the $200 she paid for the dog's fare AND also the fares of herself and her children? Answer: desperate damage control because United knew it is in the wrong. You CAN'T get a dog onto a plane without security, at the LEAST, knowing about it. -
Maybe united airlines shares some blame but this family you slobber over is just as wrong and didn’t give the dog a chance of survival plus I don’t think the airline knew it was a dog or the dog would have been handled differently.
-
I was trying to keep it civil, but you tell me I "slobber?" You're a moron. Go get a clue. Have you been on a commercial flight since 9-11? You CANNOT get a dog onto an airplane without them knowing! The owner told the flight attendant it was a dog over and over.

Like what is their policy and procedure on pet carry ons?

-
They are supposed to go, in their little carriers, under the seat in front of you. The flight attendant insisted over and over the dog must go up in the overhead, until finally the woman (who had two small kids with her) complied. Flight attendant was in the wrong.

All parties involved are equally guilty of animal cruelty.

United sucks but who on Earth would agree to shoving their dog in an overhead bin for hours? There is no way I would have agreed to that insanity.

The owner is to blame, why would you stick your dog in there to begin with?

Did the people traveling with their puppy ever check on the puppy? Once after takeoff??? Give it water on the flight? Or just put it up there and bloody well forgot about it until - oh/ the flight ended and they - remembered- oh my god - I did put my puppy up there!
-
Have you ever flown? They probably weren’t allowed to open the overhead bins.
-
That is not true. You can access the overhead bins once the plane is safely in the air. People do it all the time. The family is also to blame. Makes no sense putting a dog in a closed overhead bin no air and the heat. Both are at fault. No common sense!!
-
A lot of times you might never have the chance to go inside the overhead bins
