@t11steele3 this is why this walkout is happening! Myself & many others want all students to feel safe in school w/o the fear of someone coming & trying to end their life. I respect ur want to own guns, but students are dying b/c there arent good enough restrictions to protect us

What restrictions would you want to decrease deaths? Less food? Less cars? Less tobacco? Because all those would decrease deaths way more then restricting guns
-
Yes, but why do 18 year olds need guns that would be used in the military. I understand that people are dying from basically everything in today's world, but if we could do something that could save even a few more lives then that's a change I am willing to support!
-
2nd amendment that’s why
-
And I just want to tell you that I respect you for seeing the need to protect your rights. But at some point trying to keep people alive comes before being able to own a gun. Is a gun really worth more to you than the added protection to our lives?
-
I’m keeping my guns as long as I live for 1. It’s a right and always has and always will 2. To protect my family and I and 3. Because I live in America, the land of the free because of the brave. Who are actaully protecting your right to say this shit as we speak... with a gun.
-
I want you to realize that I understand that guns are an important factor in our society today. I get you wanting to own a gun to protect your family, I get that you're in a nation that says it's the land of free and I get that we are protected by people fighting for us...
-
with guns, but why do we, citizens, living in our beautiful country of America need to own the same type of gun that soldiers are using to fight terrorists and battle in combat? You can have your guns, but why do you need to have these massive killing machine type guns?...

Birmingham is 3rd most violent city in U.S. according to the FBI. The lad and his mom should be more concerned about violence on the streets.
-
Are you kidding? This child lives in a world where they practice active shooter drills, tell my 8 year old to drop to the ground if shooting begins on the play ground and you want to minimize the problem with BS. I call BS.
-
I don't see how Birmingham being the 3rd in violence is BS.
-
What is BS is minimizing the child’s fear and trying to make a school shooting problem about something else. Geographic location. Let’s deal with the real problem, the kid is afraid of a school shooter.
-
This is a kid who wanted a interview on TV. Nothing more. The left is too easy too please

This is not what a child of 11-12 yrs old should be doing. What does that say about our society? It’s really the time to look at that.

Their living in despair, without hope..they need a future with love and security...

No young child should feel the need to do such a thing as even think of writing a will at his age!!! What have we done to these young people??? We should be so ashamed of ourselves, our lack of protection for our precious children!

This is just so heartbreaking. Children go to school not knowing whether they are going to return home safely. How are they suppose to concentrate on schoolwork, when they are thinking about whether someone is going to shoot them while they are in class.
