In patients with chronic back pain or hip or knee arthritis, opioids worked no better than over-the-counter pain relievers at reducing problems with walking or sleeping, new research finds. http://cbsn.ws/2FvB5kQ pic.twitter.com/HeP40ihBTm

I've had disc surgery 3 times and a 3 level fusion and for people with actual nerve pain this is absolute b.s. although I don't take pain meds anymore there were points where Advil just doesn't cut it

I have cancer stage 4. The only way I could type this is my pain pill. Over the counter does nothing for me.

Good thing cancer related pain isn't part of this study.

Total BS; & total waste of grant money. Big Pharma pushed Oxy & Norco like tictacs and ANY1 who takes them 4 ANY substantial amount of time, WILL become addicted. Its not if, its how long. ANY1 who says otherwise has never taken nor known a chronic pain pt on these meds.

I agree. For anyone w chronic pain. That is the trade-off. Most people will accept this and deal w it. If it allows them to live a normal life. Doing normal things. Cooking, cleaning, working a job. This study, where ever it came from is an unrealistic con job. Shame on them.

Who conducted this study? I had my knee crushed in an automobile accident and spent 6 months in a coma. I tried for 5 years to do physical therapy and take OTC pain relievers. I couldn't walk without pain until my doctor prescribed an opioid. Lock up the abusers not the patients

Tylenol? Thats as useless as a cough drop for chronic back pain. Ibuprofen? If Its muscle pain maybe. For chronic inflammation back pain these do nothing. I'm hoping CBD might do something since about the only place I can get opiods is on a street corner.
