This pisses me off so freaking much. These teachers are making more than both of my parents make combined right now and we have no issues making ends meet or anything like that & we live a very happy life. Oh & we also don't get 3 months off in the summer. This really angers me

Your anger is misdirected. Get a grip.

Ok, if that's so, Jack...things being good with the parents and all....why the anger?

They make more money than a lot of people and complain about what they get paid. Neither of my parents are unsatisfied with their financial compensation which is way below the national household income average.

and honestly it's more frustration than anger. Should have worded that better I guess.

We just watched what teachers do for their students -- some even gave their lives! They should NEVER be treated like this. If anyone deserves a raise, it's our nation's teachers!!!

$45k a year, 2+ months off every summer, 2+ weeks off every winter, 1+ week off every spring, plus basically every federal holiday, snow days, nearly impossible to fire... Shoot, sign me up.

If you think it's so easy, I welcome you to come to my high school in Baltimore City and teach. People who make comments like your are the ones who quit by Thanksgiving. Teaching today's teen is harder than you can imagine regardless of how many teens you have raised at home.

It's their union that negotiate contracts, correct? The teachers would then have to agree on those contracts? Why agree with your union rep if you do NOT agree with it? It's the contract they agree'd to, wait until that contract is up!

The teacher unions cannot negotiate contracts in WV.

I am amazed at the anger directed towards teachers on this thread. This is a reflection of you, not them. Teachers are over worked, under-paid, and deserve not only our lip service respect, but hard cash.
