"We are going to be focusing very strongly on mental health because here's a case of mental health. Part of the problem is that we used to have mental institutions," President Trump says of gun law reforms http://cbsn.ws/2CbqgDj pic.twitter.com/feF72GYRDA

“We have to harden our schools not soften them up. A gun-free zone to a killer or someone that wants to be a killer — that's like going in for an ice cream,” President Trump says during school safety meeting in wake of Florida school shooting http://cbsn.ws/2CbqgDj pic.twitter.com/OdYIS1XkDX

“I don't want teachers to have guns. I want certain highly adept people who understand weaponry and guns,” President Trump says. “These people are cowards. They're not going to walk into a school if 20% of the teachers have guns — or maybe 10% or 40%.” http://cbsn.ws/2CbqgDj pic.twitter.com/FvJkq6WnVF

Reporter: What do you say to teachers who say they don’t want guns in the classroom? President Trump: “These are experts. These would be people that actually would want them. It would be a small percentage, but it would be a lot of people.” http://cbsn.ws/2CbqgDj pic.twitter.com/UNgwynoq4u

So glad Mental Health is at the forefront! Anyone who thinks this isn’t a core issue should work on my adolescent psych unit for a week and have their eyes opened to how much help mental health patients need.
-
Well clearly it is but that's true the whole world over. The US issue is freely available guns as well. Toxic mix.
-
I agree that it is a toxic mix. I think we can also agree that mentally stable people don’t commit acts like this. I work with teens just like Cruz and there has to be a multifaceted approach to end these shootings.
-
That's true but skirting the main issue:large numbers of deaths and injuries in US are caused by toddlers picking up guns. They are perfectly healthy mentally but have access to guns. Guns' availability are evidently the primary issue.
-
You are referring to parental safety and responsibility when speaking of children accessing unlocked firearms in their homes. Those are two different issues. Guns should be locked when in homes.

I'm outta here.

What about movie theater safety? Or shopping malls, businesses, restaurants, workplaces, post offices, etc? Don't allow the terrorist Republican Party to shift this to be a school safety issue. Gun violence happens everywhere.

He keeps saying the same thing over and over again, his mental state is gone!

The over and over again you are hearing is the voices of Presidents like #43 & #44 because they did nothing. As a matter of fact, nothing has been done since the first school shooting. We protect Federal bldgs. but not kids. Give us ideas, not complaints.
-
now thats funny, you r just like thwe woman on the news last night saying she did not have russians in her campaign for trump, even when showed proof, we r not talking about 43&44, we r talking about
