Now to see sensible legislation placed on the table. That is a different matter entirely.

Sensible legislation would put armed guards and metal detectors at schools.
-
I keep seeing this solution. In some schools in high crime/violent areas, didn't they do this? I wonder how it has worked at places like those.
-
I see value as a preventative measure. Any action we can take to reduce casualties or to increase the difficulty for a shooter should be considered.

-
That would relate to banning alcohol rather than cars if the driver is intoxicated

So they interviewed about 15 million gun owners? That's an extensive poll.

It makes sense ... why would sensible responsible gun owners want loonies to have assault weapons ????
-
Nobody can keep anyone from making weapons at home in order to protect themselves. If not firearms, some other weapon will be used. Please don't fall for this propaganda from MSM. For the record, I'm not a gun owner nor wish to purchase one. The only sense this makes is nonsense.
-
The point is, being illegal, they can be prosecuted when they are arrested and not just let go to go get more
-
We house more offenders by making bad laws. Nobody asked us before the Controlled Substances Act was passed. Since then, The Economics of Prohibition was written and ignored by politicians. Our laws created crime and violence while claiming to defend us.
-
That logic only applies to victimless crimes, genius
-
I used to think the way you do too. If Congress wanted to do something they would, and they'd do it without our consent.
-
what is your point? ...that was just rambling gibberish
-
The federal government doesn't need popular opinion in order to ban these weapons outright. Have you read anything by Edward Bernays? This is how they crystallize public opinion and manufacture consent... by using propaganda.
