How do you get arrested for counterfeit checks and go back home sterilized ? How ? Is that even legal? What is going on!?

SMH , we allow these few 1 percenters to treat us that way . If we hold these clowns accountable for the stupid decisions they make , all these lawmakers will think twice before making decisions which harm the very people who put them in office.

How the hell does sterilization have to do with writing bad checks? This is obscene.
-
Yikes. And we even have to ask that question. My question is What Century Is It?

Well....this is dystopian & frightening. I understand that she gave up her parental rights, but it sounds to me like this woman needed medical treatment for addiction, not the medical procedure of sterilization.

They "pay" you 12 cents an hour, steal your hope and breath and then say eugenics is your ticket home.

That she has seven children and lost custody of 6 -- almost makes makes me say "ok." Almost. I'm uncomfortable with a judge suggesting this procedure to anyone.
-
I know what you mean. There are people who should not be having babies (and I don’t mean only addicts), but society’s comfort with treating women’s bodies like breeding animals and how the trend is growing is disturbing. Women need to just retake control of their bodies. ASAP.

Please read carefully. Judge commented about having too many kids & taken away. Can't confirm, but I doubt the judge requested sterilization. No forced anything and she received a legal sentence for check fraud. Sentencing takes into account mitigating and aggravating factors.
-
The problem is, the US has a history of locking up undesirables(minorities and the disabled) for minor crimes and then forcibly sterilizing them. This looks a hell of a lot like a more subtle version of that.
-
Not to mention that there was a judge explicitly offering shorter sentences in exchange for sterilization just last year. The idea isn't as far-fetched as you seem to assume.

Something tells me that same judge would not be so swift to argue for sterilization of men found guilty of rape. He feels entitled to play the role of god when it comes to women’s bodies. “America”, 2018

You want to take care of 7 crack babies?

http://www.nytimes.com/2013/05/20/booming/revisiting-the-crack-babies-epidemic-that-was-not.html … Crack babies were never a thing.

This is eugenics, pure and simple, some Margaret Sanger BS but with classism. Idgaf if he “suggested” it, or if she had relinquished her parental rights before. he’s giving her the choice between prison time and sterilization, which is just awful, and THE MOST SLIPPERY of slopes
