Some Eagles players say they will not visit the Trump White House with the rest of their Super Bowl winning teammates. This is not the first time athletes have refused to visit the president http://cbsn.ws/2BXFC9y pic.twitter.com/IThUd7itPd

Black unemployment is at an all time low, the economy has strengthened substantially, and lately I’ve seen more news about cops being shot then of then doing the shooting! What more d they want?

Who is this “they” of which you speak? Me thinks you lean towards a racist point of view. Actually I know you’re a racist.

Thank you Miss Lillian. The love of my life who died two years ago was a black man. I protested in the 60s & 70s, living in DC & thought with the tragedies of JFK MLK RFK that we could stop racism. It breaks my heart what my love endured & where we are now.

I’m proud of you & applaud your tenacity and your loyalty to a loved one. My loved one couldn’t withstand the slings and arrows of racism that were directed at him because of our relationship. He folded himself back into the white community and reaped the benefit of confirming.

I support the players because Black Lives Matter and Trump doesn’t have a clue what taking a knee means. Trump’s racist comments should not be supported.

I’m thankful that we live in a country where everyone is entitled to an opinion. However, the President is elected as the President of the UNITED States of America. NOT of some of the people, but of ALL of the people of these United States.

This really does demonstrate how fractured and dysfunctional US government and society is. Is this what the glorious tradition of the American Revolution and the Founding Fathers sought to achieve?

Not sure The Founding Fathers factored in “Meet yearly with Super Bowl winners.”

Thank you. A fair point. It does seem a bit of a shame since national sporting events are usually an opportunity to bring the nation together after the consequences of political discourse, which in a democracy necessarily involves divided opinion.

Except the guy in the White House who's constantly saying divisive things is the guy who's caused the tension between them and him.
