Help me understand. I'm FOR Dreamers & DACA, but how could he not seek legal residence every moment possible, but have the time AND MONEY to open a business?! I do get it. I'm trying to be compassionate, but these stories frustrate me.

So for that reason the government knows their unlawful status and how long they have been here illegally, so they can’t leave to their home country which is a requirement for citizenship because when they try to Renter legally the government will know and see they were here

See, that is the part I don't get. He had a business, which means paperwork and probably a bank loan. The student loan people can find you on Mars, but the gov't slept on people like this guy?

Nobody understands that part. Sometimes they let criminals back out and deport the good citizens

Not to sound like I have no compassion, but really? You had 39 years to become a citizen! You didn’t think it was important enough?

Thank you. Thought I’d suddenly lost ability to be compassionate. Why did he abandon his permanent residence in 1988? The advocates are wrong on this one

Couldn’t agree more! If I wasn’t a legal citizen, the first thing I would have done after the election was apply!

Once again for 8 years deportations were 100% ignored by the media. NOW THERE IS SOME CRISIS? A perfect example of partisan, biased, slanted "news".

Options were. Stay & be convicted of food stamp fraud & face serious jail time OR Return to Jordan and remain free without coming back. He picked the latter.
