Something usually missed abt this period, too, is that during war corporate empires were built while employing mostly women. Factories were running 24/7. Because women were vitally needed, to make their employment feasible companies provided on-site childcare, ... /1

When I was a teenager in the 1970s, I used to build plastic model kits of several of the American planes, tanks and ships used in World War II. The actual ones were no doubt built by women labor, very impressive.
