"Thanks to God, everything worked out." A Cleveland Clinic doctor was moments away from sipping on a glass of champagne on his flight back from Paris to the U.S. Instead, he helped deliver a baby boy during his trip home. http://cbsn.ws/2DP65sG pic.twitter.com/Gq3hgBk8yl

Pregnant women should avoid flying during the third trimester of pregnancy 😑 To become/be a good mother is a challenge not an easy game.

I hope he shouted “Urine luck!” when they asked if there was a doctor on the plane.

Lovely story. Reminder: Pregnancy is not an illness that prevents travel unless it is a high risk pregnancy.

I thought you weren't suppose to fly in last trimester?

Nope, it’s mainly because the airlines don’t want to be delivering babies while inflight. With a medical certificate from your doctor you can fly, although the added stress of flying wouldn’t be something I’d think would be great.

So, that's why you're not supposed to fly in the last trimester. 😔

Why is the other doctor simply “the pediatrician” in this story? It makes it seem like she’s irrelevant.

Good job from Dr. Sij Hemal! But I bet this will not show up on Fox News or Breitbart.

How is it bad? This is a rule to insure the safety of both mother and a child. They were very lucky there were no complications.

Not to be cynical, but perhaps the Mom was aiming for US citizenship for her baby. Seems risky to fly while that pregnant.
