I’m guessing neither of you read the article. He was brought here at the age of 10. He has been trying to become legal since 2002.

You've obviously never dealt with the immigration process when you came illegally. Very hard to get residency or citizenship. Most times when you go to the consulate in home country for appointment, they deny you automatically for coming over illegally in the 1st place

Special program was enacted under Obama to allow those brought here illegally at a child to have their immigration status adjusted by doing humanitarian work. Program had been in place for 5 years.

Yes he does as he arrived at the age of 10. Nearly all "dreamers" are over 30.

No different than facing the punishment for breaking any other law. When you're effectively a fugitive that's what you get. 5 of those years there was a special program for having him immigration status adjusted.

He actively pursued legal status for many years - wouldn’t even leave the state without notifying ICE (+ its predecessor). He was allowed to remain thru Xmas before reporting for deportation. Pick a different poster child.

His "active pursued" did not include what was required. His pursuant was wanting it handed to him. The ones who need a "different poster child" are those that want want people to feel bad about those who get punished for being here illegally.
