In 16 years, the Afghan War has cost 2,400 American lives and $1 trillion. But with the country's capital under siege, the end still seems far away. http://cbsn.ws/2r0YaWm pic.twitter.com/lwWypr3kM1

Your point? The alternative to taking the fight to them?

His point is merely asking WTF is the plan or are we just following the earlier British and Russian fiascos there.

No alternative but to bring the fight to them. The alternative is to give them a lawless nation as a base of operation.

Russia failed there as well. Bring home all of them. Nothing to win. Everything to lose. Lives wasted. On all fronts. No WAR.

Meanwhile, back on the farm.... 1/5 Idaho kids had no dinner last night. $1 Trillion in bombs we cannot feed our Citizens, only theirs. Tragedy strikes again. Year 17... Bring them ALL home to their families. God hates war....especially wars fought with nothing to win. Wake..

This war could have been won in months if it wasn’t for the ridiculous “just war theory”. It would have cost far fewer lives, both American and Afghani, far less money and created a lasting peace.

Carpet bombing didn't bring 'lasting peace' in Indochina, it brought lasting Communist governments in power in Laos and Vietnam, it led to the horrors of the Khmer Rouge in Cambodia - whose current de facto dictator PM is a former Khmer Rouge that defected to Vietnam's side.

American lives? What about the Afghani civilians? I'm a lot more interested in that statistic, seeing as how those people have no choice about where they are born or live

They are indeed victims, but victims of their government, not the United States.

October 7, 2001. Didn't take Shrub long to get moving did it? And, all because the Taliban wouldn't play ball. But, the next big move would be on Iraq which had nothing to do with 9/11 whatsoever. Just another unfortunate victim. 👎👀💁🍺

Paying for the same real estate at least twice. Open ended, with no exit strategy. If there was any strategy at all, other than not to just leave.
