The more I read about this story, the more I think this isn’t a good example of pay gap between men and women. For Wahlberg, it seems to be about business, getting paid or however you want to say it—and Williams’ agent not negotiating a better deal for her. Simple as that IMO

How much did Dan Stevens make for his role in "Beauty and the Beast" compared to Emma Watson's $15 million?

She offered to work for free. He did not.

Seems to me that her agent dropped the ball. At the very least, Mark has a better agent.

So it’s his fault that he has a better agent? These contracts are negotiated - the production company tries to give everyone the shaft and it’s up to the actor/representative to negotiate an acceptable deal. No gender bias here, just reality. Btw, this isn’t really even news.

Did she ask for money? Are they just expected to be nice and give it to her? To me, from info reported, seems like Wahlberg is simply a better negotiator and, frankly, a more well known entity = bigger audience. This is a bad example of gender equality.

Guess she should have had her agent battle for a better deal. Anyhow, it has nothing to do with gender and everything to do with star power.

Pay gap? I have never heard of Michelle , but I have seen a bunch of Marks projects. Probably worth it !

Maybe because he’s a much bigger star and draw than she it. She also agreed to do the movie at the wage that was offered.

Did this have anything to do with the contracts they signed prior? Did Michelle agree to do reshoots in her contract and Mark didn’t? These details matter, but I haven’t seen much reporting on it.

Ya, I’ve heard this too. I’m completely for gender equality and agree there’s major work to be done for equal pay, but reporting these cases without these important details is hurting the cause, not helping it. This one seems to be about contracts, not gender.
