Walmart was rich enough to begin with and did not need the tax cut to give raises/bonus. Don't fall for the con game.

Consider you need 20years as an employee to be eligible for “up to” 1000 bonus. this is farcical
-
But the 20+% raises are UUUGGE!

I’m excited that Trump policies are working for the American people. Proof!pic.twitter.com/cCWAJFWRaN

Not disputing it - a bonus is not ongoing comp and their tax break is permanent- how much will this cost Walmart and how much are they saving? Do the math. So who paid? Taxpayer. what offsets this? higher insurance- and debt. which no one cares about today.

I'll believe it when there's evidence that they've done it!
AT&T said, before Christmas, that they were giving bonuses to employees.
As of 1/10/18, AT&T hadn't issued any bonuses!
BUT, they DID fire thousands of employees! Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

$22,880 a year with food stamps you might even be able to survive as long as you live in a cardboard box.

Considering that wages are a deductible expense, this increase has nothing to do with the tax break on left-over profit. They could have done this literally anytime.
-
yes it does, they have more money to give out. they still have to pay their income tax and now that they will have more disposable income after they subtract their expenses from revenues and pay taxes, they can pass that onto their employees without changing their bottom line
-
wage is a deductible expense, yes, but raising that expense means less retained earning for the following year. lowering taxes increases RE which the difference of is what is being passed to the employees. this is directly bc of GOP tax bill
-
im not in favor of this bill whatsoever but to be so stupid as to claim it’s not the cause of this is intentionally moronic
-
Shall we also give the bill credit for all the layoffs that AT&T did after announcing the $1000 bonus for certain employees?
-
literally JUST said i’m not in favor of this bil. i’m liberal through and through. but what you’re claiming is absolute bs. idgaf about att, this is about walmart rn. stop pandering bc you’re wrong.
-
You’re wrong, and its painful to read. When corporate tax rates are high (like when it was 90%) to avoid paying 90%, businesses will spend their profits on expansion, equipment, employees, and the like. Your understanding is completely backwards.
