Days after Hollywood championed the fight against gender inequality at the Golden Globes, a new report claims Mark Wahlberg earned more than 1,500 times Michelle Williams' pay for reshooting scenes in "All the Money in the World." http://cbsn.ws/2D3aU4n pic.twitter.com/v1XCM56ezx

I've never heard of Michelle Williams... Mark Wahlberg has name recognition that is marketable. He is worth more...

Seriously? Shes been on the scene for over a decade. Shes been nominated for two Golden Globes, a Tony, and an Academy Award. You should come out from under that rock, but feel free to leave your misogyny behind.

There is something in the business world called Market-value. Not everyone is equal - people need to grow up. Some have greater market-value than others. In this instance Mark Wahlberg is worth more. I has nothing to do with sex - you moron...

her market value is at least as high as his these days. But $1.5 million VS. $80 a day for two headliners isn’t just “unequal,” but an insult.

You sure about that? I mean...like...Jeff had never heard of her so.... But yes, I agree, it's an insult at the very least.

Well, IF his “market value” is higher, it’s because Hollywood promotes films with men more than women and they promote them harder. She’s gotten several Oscar nominations already; at least as many as him.

can someone explain how this unequal? The news said she OFFERED to do the reshoots free!! Am i missing something?

She wasn’t informed that not everyone was doing the reshoots for free. Both of them were represented by the same agency. Someone along the line should have told her the truth of the situation.

Moral of the story don’t give up your negotiating power by offering your services for free. Time is money

And that’s the difference between the lead actor, who was probably prevailed upon as an artist and woman to do the reshoots for free, and the supporting actor who is just there for his name. I hope she dumps her agency because they are clearly not doing their jobs.

After reading this article it sounds like we need to teach women to negotiate better & be more shrewd vs. taking the "nice" route. Being business owners & managers, my wife & I talk about this all the time. It's an owners job to get the most for least amount of $$. It's business.

So many instances where real gender wage gaps exist, and you try to stretch THIS? You’re hurting your own agenda far more than helping.

The alleged pay gap in Mr. & Mrs Smith, where Brad Pitt supposedly earned double Angelina Jolie is comparing apples to apples.

Mark's agent demanded to be paid, Michelle thought the re-shoot was the right thing to do. I guess the studio doesn't pay people unless they ask for it..... not sure how this can be viewed as sexist.

Seems pretty obvious that agents, who are supposed to be working on behalf of their female actors, aren't doing their job. Sack them and get someone better.

Oh for crying out loud , replace her with another unknown and nothing happens , take mark out and put in an unknown and no one goes to see it , wonder why no one complains when jennifer Lawrence gets paid more than an unknown male in a movie. ,

Never ever work for free. Especially in Hollywood. Then don’t work for peanuts if you are a star. If your agent agrees to it, get a new agent. Especially on a big budget movie. No more Ms. Nice Woman.
