One must wonder, is there NO ONE in the company who looked at this ad and said “well, there might be a problem here”. No one? Really? Seriously. If I ran this company I’d be firing a whole bunch of ppl over this stupidity.

And the hoody was green?! Slaves worked in fields, which were green! And don’t even get me started on the “hood” which is a common slang for low income area. God H&M have you no humanity!!! (Sarcasm)
-
Have you ever been dehumanized and called a monkey? If not, go troll somewhere else.
-
I’m sorry if this is coming off as insensitive. I understand African Americans have been associated with monkeys, but so have energetic children and I think that’s the connection H&M was making. The clothing was a playful gesture, which adults flipped into racism...

I agree with you ...

As a Black woman I would like to see the history of us being called monkeys be just that history! That way the next time it could be just a really cute kid wearing a really cute shirt! But that won't happen if the Adults continue to teach our young generation racism.

I don't think H&M conspired a racist plot against black people. I think the kid just thought he looked cool wearing a cool sweatshirt. It's the adults that looked at his picture and his skin color and said this is racist. We need change, love, and tolerance!

I don't agree. News media like you keep these racial stereotypes alive! In the ad he was just a cute kid wearing a cute shirt. Now after all this controversy he is going to think something is wrong with the way he look. He is introduced to racism when he didn't need to be. Thanks

I thought blacks were supposed to be "hard". How did this cause so much upset? It was clearly a benign and innocent advertisement.
-
We’d appreciate it if you didn’t call us “blacks “
-
Well I don't really care about what you appreciate
-
Lol you would never say this to my face

-
Why would I be scared of a Puerto Rican girl? Meet me at Finsbury Park Mosque I'll hook you in the gabba
-
FaceTime me since you’re not scared
