This is an administrative problem. You have to wonder what the superintendent has done to request funds to upgrade the conditions in this particular school. And if he/she requested, who and why was the request denied?

Many schools are like this. My husband taught in PG county and often he and the kids had to keep coats on during class. Fund our schools!

But who is holding back the funding? I guess I’m asking... where is the paper trail. If I were a resident, I’d be asking to see what the superintendent has done to resolve the issue. Something this news broadcast should have included.

Exactly. This neglect risks the health of everyone who must study or work in those schools. An emergency response is needed, followed by an honest assessment of the failure and a serious plan to fix. If anything, schools should be open for warming, not the reverse.

In states that run their own OSHA programs, public sector employees must have protection from hypothermia. Not in federal OSHA states.

Huh. Well, then, let's add "fix federal OSHA standards" to our list of things to do for our teachers and children.

Kids also have to stand outside in darkness, snow and bitter cold while waiting for school bus.

Lol yes let's not blame Democrats who have been running Baltimore for decades but the people who came into office a year ago.

Way to go Baltimore. 50+ years of democrat rule has turned this city into an unlivable disaster area. Dems, libs and socialist commies have done it again and your NFL team sucks too.

Yet, Democrats fight to keep failing public schools. How about school choice? Let’s give poor students the same opportunities as rich ones. Let parents choose. Why don’t Dems support poor children? Could it be Teacher Union donations? #SchoolChoice

The poor kids can’t afford private schools, even with vouchers. We need to preserve and improve our public schools, for the benefit of all.

If federal dollars become available, many more private schools will open. The way to improve / eliminate failing schools is to provide some competition. Competition to teach our kids successfully would help our students. Public Schools would be forced to get better. #SchoolChoice
