This is such a sad story. Teens do so many stupid things just because ....I certainly did. Too young to know better. How do you reconcile that with causing a death?

Seriously?!? Too young to know better??? Shame on you! That’s a load of BS! I have no sympathy for them at all! They took a life and certainly know better. I hope they are punished appropriately to include intense counseling.
-
No, they didn’t. There was no thinking, let’s go kill someone tonight. They are young kids without adult tools to realize someone could die from their stupidity

-
Are you so disconnected with what a 14 year old should know.? Come on, Do you think anyone of them would have let their friends drop a sandbag on their face from even 6 feet.? I don't think so..
-
I am saying they did not intend to KILL anyone!!!!!!!!!!!
-
And that will be the difference between murder (malicious intent) and manslaughter.
-
But the idea that they couldn't Possible think someone Could die is very thin indeed.

Cities MUST make examples of kids caught doing this! They have caused too many deaths and injuries for prosecutors to continue handling them with kid gloves.

I'm sure the family of the victim will have a lot more tears than these teens can even imagine! They know right from wrong and chose to do this anyway. I do not feel sorry for them.

This isn't a silly juvenile prank. These kids - AND THEIR PARENTS - Should get death penalty!

They're crying because they got caught not because they feel remorse. 13/14 is old enough to know right from wrong.

Kids don't think, if you do that, you could kill someone. Sad to see such a harsh sentence, I think they should have known better but... kids! Murder? errr.... too harsh. Idiotic Manslaughter? if there was such a thing... I dunno...

They should know better. The teens in another case in Michigan are learning a huge lesson as well. Teens, actions = consequences. Might be good or bad. Think things through before you act. Now, you did the crime, you pay the time.

So they understand actions have consequences now, too late for the car driver though, little thugs.
