Over the last 7 months I lost 35 lbs. I never thought I would succeed because I never had. I made no long term goals, I only made eating decisions about right now. I chose not to elevate food to be a reward or a deprivation. Portion control, walking. One day at a time.

Ok fat-shamers, many of you clearly didn’t read the article. You saw yourself in Nicky, got defensive, and came out swinging. Nicky gets to eat whatever she wants. This chunky girl has to undercut Nicky’s calories by 200 a day to lose 1 lb. in 2 weeks.

I used to struggle with my weight and tried and failed at many of the fad diets. What worked for me was - I simply stopped buying the unhealthy stuff and reduced the times I ate out. I’m now 50 lbs lighter and have stayed that way. Sure it was hard at first, any habit is.

People are going to use this study and say “see it’s not my fault”, change nothing and continue to be overweight. Stop normalizing this stuff. This study skates around calling food an addiction but that’s essentially what they described and like an addiction, it can be beaten.

I've never understood the term
