As a teacher I beg to differ

I almost tweeted a sharp reply until I realized this was a parody account.

Yeah it's all sarcasm. It took me a bit to catch that but I've been seeing a bit of that on twitter lately.

As a teacher: screw this line of thought. Teachers have to wear so many “hats” that throwing “armed security” into the mix is grossly irresponsible.

And what happens when a teacher, with limited gun training & no training on gun use during a crisis, shoots a student? Even highly trained police sometimes have friendly fire incidents.
-
Then the teacher gets blamed and the NRA screams for more guns.
-
Yes, that pretty much sums it up.

When I was a child, we snuck into our teacher’s desk to find all of the toys and candy she had confiscated. If Lana had her way, there’d be a gun in that drawer as well.

Let's bring back the Wild West and all can be armed. Why not vigilantes as well? Crazy times.

Because it’s supposed to be a school, not a FOB in a war zone.

One time a teacher threw a history book at me. If she had a gun... I might not be here to be able to tweet this.
