I struggle to believe how the other two-thirds of Americans do not see this level of gun violence as a crisis.

Your numbers are skewed. You can put your head in the sand if you like, but the problem is obvious to unbiased observers, and we will take action.

And I'm sick of people diminishing suicides. Thousands of innocent women and children die in murder-suicides every year. Their lives don't matter to you? http://www.statesman.com/news/crime--law/texas-father-kills-children-apparent-murder-suicide-police-say/aHRlFr5EaxlxJxYE94T6CK/ …

By your logic, suicide bombers are NBD since they also kill themselves in the process. I care about the thousands of innocent children killed by suicidal men who shouldn't have access to firearms.

That means 2/3 of Americans believe in our rights and the media cannot change our minds

It’s pretty obvious there is a problem. But honestly is it a gun problem or a mental health problem? I don’t know? There are other countries with similar guns per household percentages but the violence levels are much lower. There are also countries that are far worse as well.

Canada. My country. We have roughly the same guns per household as America but a smaller population. And I simply asked a question to spur debate. Thank you.
-
In some ways, Canada's gun control laws are more relaxed than the US. Once they obtain a license, Canadian gun owners can buy guns and have them delivered to their home. Canadian gun owners can also buy guns that are illegal to import to the US.
-
Very true. Like I have said through this thread...is it a gun problem or a mental health problem? Again, I don't know the answer. But thank you for the imput.
-
The majority of firearm related deaths in the US are suicides. Those would be a mental health problem. Most of the rest are criminal homicides, which is a mix of mental health problem, drug/gang problem, and just simple crime problem.
-
Good point. An obvious mental health issue. Amplified by easy access to weapons. Fair enough. I agree. So I guess it’s not which one is it, it’s both. Thanks for the decent conversation. Nice to not be insulted. Have a great night.

Ban ANY kind of assault rifle/weapon! They are NOT needed by ANY civilian! Keep your rifle. Keep your handgun. Keep your shotgun. BAN assault rifles! Certainly improve the process to obtain.
-
Yeah, those are black and scary!
-
The assault weapon ban that Senator Feinstein keeps trying to push in Congress, lists the Ruger Mini-14 as both banned (black synthetic stock version) and exempt from the ban (stained wood stock version). It's all about fear of blacks and trying to control blacks.
-
Because a black plastic stock is much deadlier than a wood one. You’d think environmentalists would be against cutting trees for gun stocks ...
